Parakeet Earrings

Tiny parakeet earrings!

We still get very excited whenever we're in London and we hear a flock of ring-necked parakeets flying overhead!

We also love, love, love the urban myths about how they came to be there...

One rumour is that they escaped from the wrap party of The African Queen which was filmed in Shepperton Studios, West London in 1951. And the other is that Jimi Hendrix released some on Carnaby Street in the 60's!

The parakeets measure approx 5cm from beak tip to tail end, and have a total dangle (with the earring wire) of 6.5cm

The earrings wires are made from sterling silver and measure approx 2cm long.
